A tragic road accident on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district claimed the lives of four young men and left a teenager injured after a Mahindra Thar reportedly lost control and overturned multiple times. The crash occurred around midnight in the Simbhaoli police station area. According to police, the SUV was travelling from Budaun towards Delhi when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. The Thar then flipped several times before coming to a stop. Five people were travelling in the Delh registered vehicle at the time of the accident.

The impact left the SUV severely damaged, with the occupants trapped inside. The injured passengers were rescued and taken to the Sikheda community health centre. Four of them identified as Joginder, 26, Sukhbir, 25, Jaswant, 20, and Ravi, 20 were declared dead at the hospital. The fifth occupant, 17 year old Vishnu, survived the crash and is receiving medical treatment. Police said a preliminary assessment suggests that excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. However, investigators are examining the circumstances in detail to determine exactly how the vehicle lost control.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post mortem examination as part of the investigation. Authorities are also examining the condition of the vehicle and other available evidence from the accident site. The devastating crash has once again highlighted the dangers associated with speeding on high speed expressways. With the investigation still underway, police are working to establish the sequence of events that led to the fatal rollover.
