Under the new integration, creators can feature products from Amazon within their YouTube content instead of relying only on traditional affiliate links placed in video descriptions. Viewers can discover tagged products while watching and proceed to the retailer to make a purchase. To participate, creators must be part of the YouTube Partner Program and YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program in the US. They also need an active Amazon Influencer or Amazon Associates account and must link their Amazon account with their YouTube channel.

YouTube is also offering product auto tagging, which can identify eligible Amazon products in creators' content. Creators can additionally choose products manually through YouTube Studio or request that specific products be added to the available catalogue. The integration could significantly strengthen the connection between creator recommendations and online shopping. YouTube said an internal July 2026 experiment found that videos using Shopping product tags generated more than 110% more product clicks than videos relying only on links in descriptions.

Amazon's addition is particularly significant because of the size of its product marketplace. Creators across categories such as technology, fashion, beauty, home, fitness and lifestyle can potentially use product tagging to turn recommendations into a direct revenue opportunity. For viewers outside the US, tagged products may still be visible, and YouTube can sometimes match them with a trusted local merchant offer where available. However, the new Amazon tagging and commission eligibility currently applies to eligible US creators. The development marks another step in YouTube's broader push toward creator led commerce, where content, product discovery and monetisation are increasingly being brought together on the same platform.
