Parth Jindal Takes Charge as JSW MG Motor India Chairman, Company Eyes Bigger Growth in Auto Sector
JSW MG Motor India has appointed Parth Jindal as its Chairman with immediate effect, placing the JSW Group leader at the helm as the automaker looks to accelerate product development, manufacturing expansion and localisation in India.
The Board of Directors of JSW MG Motor India has appointed Parth Jindal as Chairman of the company, effective immediately. The leadership change comes at an important stage for the automaker as it looks to strengthen its position in India's rapidly evolving passenger vehicle and electric mobility market. Jindal has been associated with the company’s board since the formation of the joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor. During this period, he has been involved in key areas including product planning, expansion of manufacturing capabilities and increasing local sourcing. His elevation to the Chairman's position comes as JSW MG Motor India continues to focus on expanding its product portfolio and strengthening its manufacturing and localisation capabilities.
The company has placed considerable emphasis on electric and new energy vehicles as part of its long term strategy for the Indian market. Apart from his new responsibility at JSW MG Motor India, Jindal holds several senior positions within the JSW Group. He is the Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints, while also serving as Chairman of JSW Dulux and holding a directorship at JSW Energy. He is additionally the founder of JSW Sports and Chairman and Co-Owner of the Delhi Capitals. JSW MG Motor India was established as a partnership between JSW Group and SAIC Motor, combining JSW's understanding of the Indian market with SAIC's automotive technology and global expertise.
The venture has outlined plans to expand production, increase localisation and introduce more new energy vehicles. Jindal's appointment is therefore expected to bring renewed leadership focus to the company's expansion plans.
