Navi Mumbai Shiv Sena Corporator Booked for Rape and Stalking Case, Police Start Investigation
A Shiv Sena corporator in Navi Mumbai has been booked for rape and stalking after a woman accused him of repeated assault and threats. The accused denies the charges, calling it a political conspiracy. Police have filed an FIR and are investigating the case.
A Shiv Sena corporator from Navi Mumbai, Sahil Chougule, has been booked in a rape and stalking case after a 26-year-old woman filed a complaint against him. The case has attracted attention because of the serious allegations made by the woman and the accused’s claim that the charges are politically motivated.
According to the complaint, the woman first met Sahil Chougule in July 2024 when she visited an apartment in Airoli where her uncle worked. She alleged that during this visit, she was given a cold drink that made her unconscious. The woman claims that after she lost consciousness, the accused sexually assaulted her. She further alleged that similar incidents happened multiple times afterward.
The complainant has also accused Chougule of threatening and blackmailing her. She claimed that he warned her not to speak about the incidents and threatened to share her private photographs on social media. The woman also alleged that he threatened to harm her husband and her minor son if she reported the matter to anyone.The police complaint also names another person, Amit Maurya, as a co-accused in the case. According to the allegations, Maurya helped arrange a hotel room where one of the incidents reportedly took place. Investigators are expected to examine the role of both accused individuals as part of the inquiry.
Sahil Chougule has strongly denied all the allegations. He has described the case as false and claimed that it is part of a political conspiracy against him. Chougule has alleged that the complainant has a history of trapping people in false cases to demand money. He has reportedly submitted an audio recording to the police, claiming it supports his version of events.
The woman approached political leaders for help before filing the complaint, and the matter was eventually reported to the police. Based on her statement, an FIR has been registered at Rabale MIDC Police Station in Navi Mumbai. Police officials have confirmed that an investigation is underway and that evidence from both sides is being examined.
At present, no arrests have been made in the case. Police are collecting statements, reviewing available evidence, and conducting further inquiries to determine the facts. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have stated that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.As the case is still under investigation, the allegations and counterclaims made by both sides have not yet been proven in court. The final outcome will depend on the evidence collected during the police investigation and any future legal proceedings.
