The actress condemned the misuse of technology and urged people not to share, download or engage with the fabricated clip.

Shalini Pandey has spoken out after a fabricated video using her identity began circulating across social media platforms. The actress has categorically denied being featured in the clip and confirmed that it has been created using artificial intelligence. Addressing the controversy, Pandey described the incident as deeply disturbing and criticised the misuse of AI to target individuals, particularly women. She stressed that the video does not represent any genuine footage involving her. The actress also made a direct appeal to social media users not to contribute to the video's circulation.

She urged anyone who comes across the content to avoid sharing, forwarding, downloading or engaging with it and instead report the material to the respective platform. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over the growing misuse of generative AI to create convincing but completely fabricated videos involving public figures. Such manipulated content can cause significant reputational and emotional harm to people whose identities are misused. Pandey's response also draws attention to the particular risks faced by women online, who are increasingly being targeted through manipulated or sexually explicit deepfake content.

She said such misuse of technology should not be normalised. The Arjun Reddy actor's appeal comes as social media platforms continue to grapple with the rapid spread of AI-generated misinformation. Fabricated videos can travel widely before users have an opportunity to verify their authenticity, making responsible online behaviour increasingly important. By asking people to report the video rather than amplify it, Pandey has urged users to prevent further harm and avoid becoming part of its circulation. Her statement serves as a reminder that viral content is not necessarily authentic and that sharing manipulated material can have serious consequences. For now, Pandey has made her position clear: the circulating video is fabricated, does not depict her and should not be shared or downloaded.
